About & Values

About Us & What We Do

Ash is a Supported Housing organisation based in Greater Manchester, offering safe and comfortable accommodation which includes built-in care, support and supervision, provided by the landlord. We are a not-for-profit organisation, offering exempt accommodation funded by housing benefit for those who are eligible. We offer medium to long-term accommodation depending on the needs of each individual.

Ash Supported Housing is designed for individuals who have a history of homelessness, or are currently struggling with mental health conditions, drug and/or alcohol issues, and various health conditions which lead to a need for care, support and supervision.

Our aspiration is to help people develop and maintain their personal wellbeing, independence, and accommodation related matters equally in line with their own personal needs and wishes. We do this by utilising a person-centred approach in support of people's personal development, to maximise progression and quality of life. The ultimate aim is to give people a new start in life and develop a pathway in preparation for a more independent way of living.

Our staff receive training in line with the individual needs of tenants, as well as training in landlord-specific responsibilities to ensure tenants are supported adequately in all aspects of their needs, maintaining their accommodation, safety and personal wellbeing. We maintain robust governance and assurance processes to provide the best possible service.

The accommodation we offer is suited to the individual needs of people, helping them to achieve a sense of purpose and belonging. The assistance we offer ranges from supporting people with daily living skills, accessing relevant health and social care services to supporting social interaction and community integration.

We offer a Community Support Hub for our tenants, located within 1-3 miles of our properties, providing a central support service for tenants to meet, socialise, have refreshments, utilise free Wi-Fi to keep in touch with relatives and friends, and have face-to-face access to Ash Supported Housing outside of their homes.

Our Values

We have 4 core values which underpin our commitments to tenants & reflect the aims of our Supported Housing service.

1. To always respect the needs, wishes and values of the people who use our service, treating them with integrity, dignity and respect.

2. To improve the quality of people's lives, providing them with a home and supporting them to maintain their home. Also improving their personal wellbeing and promoting personal development.

3. To provide people with security, stability and assurance by providing and maintaining good quality accommodation, care, support and supervision.

 4. To provide a genuine, honest service, always endeavoring to do the right thing for people.

Our properties consist of single occupancy flats, each containing their own facilities, including a lounge space, separate bedroom or studio design layout, plus own kitchen and en-suite toilet & shower facilities. Each flat contains appliances and a standard of furnishing and decoration. There are no shared facilities, allowing tenants to really make their space their own, further enhancing an independent way of living.
